Preview of the new Tolkien book

So, thanks to friend D. for letting me know about the just-released preview of THE NATURE OF MIDDLE-EARTH, ed. Carl Hostetter (and thanks to T.O.R. for providing the link.  For those of us who can't wait till September, here's a thirty-five page sampling from the book.

I know what I'll be reading on tonight.

Thank you! The preview begins after the TOC for me, but searching for a phrase in it ("made no change to that of Arwen") brings up a Google Books copy where it can at the moment be viewed, at least from some countries (and looks marvellous):

Seems to be 49 pages (probably actually 50, with a blank one at the beginning) from here. Very interesting!

Thank you for this link! It looks pretty much like what I was hoping for. :) Though I have to admit, Tolkien's math regarding elven aging and maturity does make my eyes start to cross. :D

I really hope the final work as a section on the nature of orcs where we can, at least, see all of Tolkien's conflicting takes on the subject in one place. :D

Including the front cover, I got 58 non-blank pages from the Google Books preview.
