Literary Faces (X)

So, what better way to end than with my favorite picture of my favorite writer?

Don't stop there: now tell us why it's your favorite photo of him!

Hi Carolyn

I suppose it's because we have a lot of really good pictures of him looking very much the professor, making this one stand out. He was known as something of a snappy dresser, esp. when contrasted with his friend CSL, and I think this photo best captures his dapper side.

And of course that is a great hat.

Many of his photos are rather dapper: I like the one in the Family Album of Dad and Mum and the three younger children parading along the seaside promenade. This one is unusual because there isn't much of him in clothes like this. The Man in the White Suit!

It is a very dapper photo! One only wishes for the glimpse of a fancy weskit.
