The Art of the Manuscript: Marquette Exhibit

So, the opening of Marquette's exhibition is almost upon us (this Friday).

Here's a three-minute interview of a local newsman with Bill Fliss of Marquette's Special Collections  (which includes the Tolkien manuscripts) and Sarah Shaefer from UWM.

Thanks to Janice for the clip.

John:

This exhibit will include for the first time in public the entirety of Tolkien's 3rd and final synoptic Chronology of the Lord of the Rings. Bill Fliss and I semi-coordinated so that, given the planets aligning, his exhibit would coincide with my edition of the same in Tolkien Studies, and it worked out. The TS Vol 19 Supplement is out now from Muse in e-format and Duke UP in hardcopy.

Dear Bill H.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm looking forward to seeing these tomorrow.

I have the electronic version of this*, but not the hardcopy. Every time I go to the publisher's website it keeps trying to sell me TS.Vol.XVIII, which I have, not TS.Vol.XIX., the one I want,

Any suggestions?

P.S. And congratulations again on this major publication: part of LotR that has not seen print before.

*but have not yet had time to read it.

Someone from the German Tolkien Society did a half-hour walkaround video of the exhibition, it can be watched here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZE2U5_JOQw

Thanks for the link. I've only had time to give it a quick skim but find it gives a really good idea of what it feels like to walk through the exhibit. Great stuff.
